There is a screw on the wall of my back deck. We’ve not used it in the 10 years. Yet, it’s there, at the ready. As we come out of our Lockdown Life®we must all be ready to get back to work.

This was a response from a friend who is struggling through COVID-19 at home because she can’t afford to see a doctor or go to a hospital.
California District 4 congressman Tom McClintock (R – Elk Grove) has mis-represented his constituents and his neighbors (they’re not the same) for many years now. But he has been consistent. Consistently wrong.
Self-Promotion: I suck at it!
Recently, I gave a presentation on promoting yourself on social media. This is ironic given my woeful inability to promote myself.
Today, I was reading a conversation on a Facebook group focused on Mexican food. Pretty normal until someone took exception to using the word “America” to mean “United States.” This instantly reminded me of a conversation I overheard once. A conversation worth sharing, I think.
Tom McClintock has learned to emulate the “former guy” and use distortions, half-truths, and cherry-picked facts (aka “lies”) to influence his supporters.
The culprit was a piece of software common among government agencies. No one should be surprised here. The only surprise is that it did not surface sooner.
Regardless of the outcome, the work continues. We will still have people struggling to find a place to live. We will still have children in our communities who go to sleep hungry. We will still have people ostracized for the color of their skin or where they choose to worship. There will always more to do.
